Makwan Moloudzadeh, the 20-year-old gay Iranian boy who fell victim to brutal homophobia will never be forgotten.
The young people of Paveh, the village in the region of Kermanshah where Makwan spent his infancy and adolescence are whispering and calling his name with the devotion, respect and love usually reserved for an icon. Makwan has become a young hero for them, a messenger of peace, freedom and a symbol of innocence.
In secret, everyone is remembering Makwan with white flowers (an anthem
to life) and red flowers (a sign of grief). The Flowers and Hearts Campaigns initiated and promoted by Gruppo EveryOne to ask the authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran not to stain themselves with such a brutal crime and respect the boy’s life, continues: “We love Makwan”, the people who knew and loved Makwan are saying in Farsi, taken up by those who are mourning him today and who are committed, in his name, to fighting the atrocity of the death sentence. A death sentence which in Iran can reach out to a young boy as beautiful as an angel, guilty only of having loved another angel like himself. We, the members of Gruppo EveryOne, are proud to represent Makwan’s memory for many Iranians. Even the boy’s closest relatives have chosen to grieve by placing his photos alongside the symbols that now represent him: white and red flowers. They have sent us some photographs of the private altar they have dedicated to their unfortunate boy, we are publishing one of those pictures so that throughout the world the mourning for his death will not diminish - nor the fervour and courage to continue the fight in the hope that one day soon only white flowers will be symbolic of an Iran that has at present lost the path of justice and compassion.

Un altare per Makwan
Makwan Moloudzadeh, il ventenne gay iraniano vittima della più feroce omofobia non sarà mai dimenticato.
I ragazzi di Paveh, il villaggio nella regione di Kermanshah in cui Makwan trascorse l'infanzia e l'adolescenza sussurrano e pronunciano il suo nome con la devozione, il rispetto e l'amore che si dedicano a un'icona. Makwan è per loro un giovane eroe, un messaggero della libertà, un simbolo d'innocenza. In segreto, ognuno celebra la sua memoria con fiori bianchi (un inno alla vita) e fiori rossi (segno di dolore). La Campagna dei Fiori e quella dei Cuori, create e promosse dal Gruppo EveryOne per chiedere alle autorità della repubblica Islamica di non macchiarsi di un crimine tanto efferato e di rispettare la vita del ragazzo non si ferma: "Noi amiamo Makwan," si ripetono, in lingua farsi, coloro che lo conobbero e lo amarono, ma anche coloro che oggi lo piangono e si impegnano, in suo nome, contro la barbarie della pena di morte, che in Iran può toccare anche a un ragazzino bello come un angelo, colpevole di aver amato un altro angelo, simile a lui. Noi del Gruppo EveryOne siamo orgogliosi di rappresentare, per tanti iraniani, la memoria di Makwan. Anche i parenti più stretti del ragazzo hanno scelto di piangerlo ponendo le immagini di lui accanto ai simboli che oggi lo rappresentano: fiori bianchi e rossi. Ci hanno inviato alcune fotografie dell'altare domestico che hanno dedicato al loro sfortunato ragazzo, pubblichiamo una di queste fotografie perché in tutto il mondo non si affievoliscano il cordoglio per la sua morte né l'ardore e il coraggio di continuare a lottare perché, un giorno, il più presto possibile, siano solo bianchi i fiori simbolici di un Iran che ha perso la via della giustizia e della compassione.
