Rome. January 4th, 2008. Last night, at about 10 p.m., a devastating fire broke out inside the two sheds of the former Mira Lanza warehouse (each about 500 mts square) in the Marconi area of the city.

250 Rrom citizens had take shelter in the sheds, living in very harsh conditions. The fire broke out suddenly and spread with unprecedented speed throughout the sheds of the derelict warehouses.

Some of the Rroms noticed the flames and gave the alarm, allowing all the families, including 100 children, to make their escape. The fire was obviously a case of arson because it broke out in the same moment in both sheds, which stand many metres apart. It is impossible that the flames spread from one shed to the other. What is more, the speed with which the flames developed and spread and the height of the flames are typical of fires caused by Molotov cocktails.

The survivors of the fire told the authorities it was an incendiary bomb. The online press has not made any reference either to the evidence of an anomalous fire (arson), which developed in the same moment in two separate sheds (and which were not adjacent) or to the  witnesses accounts (except for Il Velino, edited by Daniele Capezzone which reports the fire correctly). The presence of gas cylinders inside the sheds shows that the racist assassins intended to cause a massacre. The Rrom families have been transferred to the pavilions of the former Fiera di Roma. from where – it has already been announced  – they will soon be ordered to leave. An investigation is underway, but experience teaches us that they are unlikely to reveal the cause of the fire, which was without doubt a case of arson.

Roma, 4 gennaio 2008. Ieri notte, intorno alle 22, un violento incendio è scoppiato all'interno dei due capannoni della ex Mira Lanza (ognuno di circa 500 metri quadrati), nel quartiere Marconi, all'interno del quale trovavano rifugio oltre 250 rrom, in condizioni difficilissime.

Il rogo è divampato improvvisamente e si è diffuso con rapidità inaudita nei capannoni dello stabilimento fatiscente. Alcuni dei rrom hanno notato subito le fiamme e hanno dato l'allarme, consentendo a tutte le famiglie, di cui fanno parte oltre 100 bambini, di mettersi in salvo. L'incendio è di natura dolosa, perché è scoppiato contemporaneamente nei due capannoni, che distano decine di metri l'uno dall'altro. Non vi è possibilità che le fiamme divampate nel primo capannone possano aver attaccato il secondo. La velocità di diffusione del fuoco e l'altezza delle fiamme sono inoltre caratteristiche degli attentati con bombe molotov. I sopravvissuti al rogo hanno riferito alle autorità di un attacco incendiario. La stampa online non fa riferimento né all'evidenza di un rogo anomalo (doloso), sviluppatosi contemporaneamente in due sedi diverse e non attigue, né alle testimonianze in tal senso (eccettuato "Il Velino", diretto da Daniele Capezzone, che riporta con esattezza l'evento). La presenza di bombole del gas all'interno dei capannoni rivela che gli attentatori razziali avevano intenzione di provocare una strage. Le famiglie rrom sono state trasferite nei padiglioni della ex Fiera di Roma, da dove prò - è già stato annunciato - saranno presto allontanate. Le indagini sono in corso, ma l'esperienza ci insegna che difficilmente faranno luce sulle cause - senza dubbio dolose - dell'incendio.

Hier dans la nuit, aux alentours de 22 heures, un incendie violent a explosé à l'intérieur de deux bâtiments de l'ex Mira Lanza (chacun d'environ 500 m²), dans le quartier Marconi, à l'intérieur desquels avaient trouvé refuge plus de 250 Rroms, dans des conditions très difficiles.

Le feu a pris à l'improviste et s'est propagé très rapidement dans les bâtiments désaffectés.Quelques Rroms qui ont remarqué le feu ont immédiatement donné l'alerte, permettant aux familles, parmi lesquelles plus de 100 enfants, d'être sauvés. L'incendie était volontaire, puisqu'il y a eu deux départs simultanés dans les deux bâtiments, qui se trouvent à des dizaines de mètres loin l'un de l'autre. Il est impossible donc que les flammes du premier bâtiment aient atteint le second. La rapidité de la propagation du feu et la hauteur des flammes sont d'ailleurs  caractéristiques des attentats à cocktails molotov. Les survivants ont rapporté aux autorités une attaque par le feu. Les médias en ligne ne font aucune référence malgré l'évidence, à un incendie volontaire qui s'est développé simultanément dans deux endroits différents et non adjacents, ni des témoignages en ce sens (à l'exception de « The Velino », dirigé par Daniele Capezzone, qui rapporte exactement les faits). La présence de bouteilles à gaz à l'intérieur des bâtiments révèle que les agresseurs avaient l'intention raciste de provoquer un massacre. Les familles rroms ont été transférées dans des halls de l'ancienne Foire de Rome, d'où, - cela a déjà été annoncé, - ils seront bientôt sortis. Des investigations sont en cours, mais l'expérience montre combien il sera difficile de faire la lumière sur les causes – sans doute volontaires – de l'incendie.
