From Veltroni to Berlusconi, from Bossi to Storace, the Italian political class is leading a persecutory racist campaign against the Rrom people.

In spite of the warning issued to Italy by the European Parliament because

of its serious racist measures against the Rroms, in spite of the condemnations  sustained by CERD (United Nations) and the International Criminal Court of the Hague - in which Italy is accused of nothing less than crimes against humanity due to its persecution of the Rroms - nothing has changed in our country. Veltroni’s racist and xenophobic declarations, taken up by Newsweek; Berlusconi’s outpourings striking a note of disgraceful anti-gypsy sentiments; the racist campaign carried out by the Lega and AN are the ideological manifesto by which Italy justifies the persecution of 120,000 children, 40,000 women and 40,000 men of the Rrom ethnic group. It is a Final Solution carried out systematically without any respect for human rights, or respect for the lives of children, the elderly, the sick, pregnant women and families living in conditions of extreme hardship. It is a ongoing disgrace that will one day be remembered as the new Samudaripen, the Holocaust of the gypsy people. It is no coincidence that the oppression of so many innocent people has lowered the average life span of the Rroms in Italy to less than 40, and led to a mortality rate among babies and young children ten times higher than the average mortality rate of other European children.

But that is not all: the media is censoring any news about this persecution:

the premature deaths, the appearance of infections and illnesses that are

striking down the gypsy families, the drama of  thousands of homeless people after they have been kicked out of the makeshift homes they have built for themselves to shelter from the rain and freezing winter temperatures.

Even the news of racist attacks against them are withheld from the press, like the fire (arson) that broke out in a gypsy camp in Pisa recently - probably the work of the ill-famed GAPE group, the group responsible for the fire in Livorno in which four young Rrom children perished. The authorities are continuing, undeterred and ruthless, with the camp clearances, throwing whole families into the street in the middle of winter, many of them with very young children. But the horror is not over yet, because Francesco Storace, the Right-wing national secretary who intends to stand for Mayor of Rome, is issuing even more brutal promises of racist purges: “We will denomadize Rome” he announces triumphantly and continues: “Without even putting up posters about me standing for Rome’s Mayor, the surveys are already assigning us 15 percent of the votes. We will get to the second ballot, and if we win Rome will be rid of its gypsies.” EveryOne Group is about to launch yet another desperate appeal to the European Parliament, asking it to pass from the Resolutions – which are useless seeing Italy completely ignores them, considering them little more than waste paper – to important sanctions and measures. The organizations fighting for the protection of the Rrom people’s rights are called on to support our request, in order to stop this new racist wave against the gypsies in Italy

During elections the new racists do whatever they want - while the political parties

who could help us are courting Berlusconi or Veltroni, two men gripped by blind anti-Rrom sentiments. The families we are trying to help are being discriminated against and persecuted; the men are losing their jobs, the families their homes, the children are insulted, mocked and beaten up at school.

Police chiefs, mayors, individual policemen, racist “vigilantes” have unleashed

a disgraceful Rrom hunt, ignoring the international laws and the recommendations

of the European Parliament and the United Nations. The alarm launched by EveryOne is a cry for justice rising from a country now prey to anti-gypsy hysteria, where both the Rroms themselves and the activists attempting to protect their rights are running greater and greater risks, and are the victims of censorship and daily intimidation.

Nonostante le Risoluzioni con cui il Parlamento Europeo ha ammonito l'Italia a causa delle sue gravi politiche razziali contro i Rrom, nonostante le denunce accolte dal Cerd (Nazioni Unite) e dalla Corte Penale Internazionale de L'Aja, in cui l'Italia è accusata nientedimeno che di crimini contro l'umanità a causa della persecuzione contro i Rrom, nulla è cambiato nel nostro Paese. Le dichiarazioni razziste e xenofobe di Veltroni, riprese anche da Newsweek; le recenti esternazioni improntate al più inqualificabile antiziganismo di Silvio Berlusconi; la campagna razziale condotta da Lega e AN sono il manifesto ideologico con cui l'Italia giustifica la persecuzione di 120 mila bambini, 40 mila donne e 40 mila uomini di etnia Rrom. E' una Soluzione Finale condotta con metodo, senza alcun rispetto per i Diritti Umani né per la vita di bambini, anziani, malati, donne incinte, famiglie in condizioni di estrema indigenza. E' una vergogna senza fine che un giorno sarà ricordata come il nuovo Samudaripen, l'Olocausto dei popoli zingari. Non a caso, l'oppressione di tanti innocenti ha abbassato la speranza di vita media dei Rrom in Italia a meno di 40 anni e provoca una mortalità di neonati e bimbi dieci volte superiore alla media degli altri bambini europei. Ma non è tutto: i media ormai censurano ogni notizia riguardante la persecuzione: le morti premature, l'insorgere di infezioni e malattie che falcidiano le famiglie zingare, il dramma di migliaia di persone senzatetto, dopo che vengono scacciate dai luoghi di fortuna in cui si accampano per fuggire l'inclemenza delle intemperie.

Persino gli attentati razziali, come l'incendio doloso di un accampamento di Rrom avvenuto recentemente a Pisa (a opera forse del famigerato GAPE, responsabile del rogo di Livorno in cui morirono quattro piccoli Rrom) vengono occultati. Le autorità proseguono imperterrite e spietate con la politica degli sgomberi, che mettono in strada in pieno inverno famiglie Rrom con bambini anche in tenera età. Ma all'orrore non vi è ancora fine, perché Francesco Storace, segretario nazionale de La Destra e intenzionato a candidarsi sindaco di Roma, lancia proclami di purghe razziali ancora più efferate: "Denomadizzeremo Roma," annuncia trionfante e prosegue: "Senza aver affisso neppure un manifesto sulla mia candidatura a sindaco di Roma, i sondaggi ci danno già al 15 per cento. Arriveremo al ballottaggio e se vinceremo Roma sarà liberata dai nomadi". Il Gruppo EveryOne sta per rivolgere un appello accorato, ancora una volta, al Parlamento Europeo affinché si passi dalle Risoluzioni - inutili, perché l'Italia le ignora, considerandole alla stregua di carta straccia - a sanzioni e provvedimenti importanti. Le organizzazioni che si battono per la tutela dei diritti dei Rrom sono chiamate a sostenere la nostra petizione, affinché venga fermata la nuova deriva razzista contro i Rrom. Sotto elezioni i nuovi razzisti fanno quello che vogliono, mentre le forze politiche che potrebbero aiutarci corteggiano Berlusconi o Veltroni, due uomini animati dal più cieco antiziganismo. Le famiglie che cerchiamo di aiutare sono incalzate e perseguitate; gli uomini perdono il lavoro, i nuclei familiari l'alloggio, i bambini vengono insultati, derisi e aggrediti a scuola. Questori, sindaci, singoli poliziotti, "vigilantes" razzisti hanno scatenato una vergognosa caccia al Rrom, ignorando le leggi internazionali e le raccomandazioni del Parlamento Europeo e delle Nazioni Unite. L'allarme lanciato dal Gruppo EveryOne è un grido di giustizia che si leva da un Paese in preda alla follia antizigana, dove sia i Rrom che gli attivisti che cercano di tutelare i loro diritti corrono rischi sempre più gravi e sono vittime di censura e intimidazioni quotidiane.
