EveryOne Group makes a proposal to the Auschwitz Museum.
The Polish authorities have recovered the sign stolen from over the gate of Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp last Friday. The Krakow Police arrested the thieves in the north of Poland. The sign was cut into three parts, but can be perfectly repaired.

EveryOne Group expresses its joy at the recovery of a piece of Holocaust memory, and is appealing to the museum managers at Auschwitz to preserve the original sign inside the exhibition space, safe from vandals, thieves and the harsh weather, and place an identical copy of the sign over the gate.
“We believe that the symbol of the persecution of Jews, Roma, homosexuals, Jehovah Witnesses, foreigners and dissidents,” say the co-presidents of EveryOne, Roberto Malini, Dario Picciau and Matteo Pegoraro, “ is an object to be protected with care.
It is important for visitors, particularly the new generations, to have the chance to observe from close up an important reminder of the memory of the martyrs of the Holocaust, the symbol itself of the total inhumanity of Nazism and intolerant regimes.
