Dear Friends,
The Iranian Homosexual Human Rights Council, IRQR, EveryOne Group and other organizations all over the world, are proud to launch the No Execution Campaign to abolish the death penalty in Iran. According to the Islamic penal code in Iran, homosexuals should be sentenced to death because of their sexual orientation. Both gay men and lesbians have been hung or stoned in Iran for the crime of homosexuality--Lavat.
Amnesty International reports that Iran executed 346 people in 2008. Executions in Iran are not only about gay men and lesbians. Activists and ordinary people--women, children, religious minorities, ethnic minorities, reporters--many Iranian people--are at risk for execution in Iran.
“346” is a conservative count. In other words Iran executed one person per day in 2008. The regime continues with this inhuman penalty--against the provisions of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, to which Iran is a signatory.
Iran must stop taking innocent lives in such a cavalier, arbitrary and brutal way.
Our first goal in this No Execution Campaign is to send at least 346 letters to the Canadian government to urge our government to press Iran to abolish the death penalty.
Iranian Homosexual Human Rights Council (IranHomoUnion) is sponsoring this campaign in Canada and EveryOne Group is No Execution Campaign’s partner in Italy.
We seek at least one partner organization in every other country to do the same. As campaign partners we will place each organization’s name on the No Execution Campaign website. Each country’s No Execution Campaign organization would translate the call for action into the language of their country. Each organization in the No Execution Campaign would send an official letter to their Ministers of Foreign Affairs to introduce the campaign to their government.
We request that each country elicit 346 letters from their citizens to stop executions in Iran.
Your sincerely,
Arsham Parsi (Iranian Homosexual Human Rights Council)
Roberto Malini, Matteo Pegoraro, Dario Picciau (EveryOne Group)

No Execution Campaign to abolish the death penalty in Iran, draft letter to address to the Premier and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of your Country
The Honorable ___________ President of the Executive Council
The Honorable ___________ Minister of Foreign Affairs
Government of ___________ Palace of the Government (address)
Dear Minister,
It is very disturbing to read Amnesty International’s report that Iran executed 346 persons in 2008. Still they are killing people with no tough consequences from the international community.
We do appreciate though that the ___________(nationality) government has frequently commented in the United Nations and elsewhere on the grievous record that the Iranian government has in regard to human rights. I urge you now to use your influence to press Iran to abolish the use of the death penalty.
___________(Your Country) should also encourage all civilized countries to censure Iran’s record and demand Iran to cease executions.
Only by sustained international pressure will Iran stop taking innocent lives in this cavalier, arbitrary and brutal way.
Yours sincerely,
___________
