Mirko is eleven years old. In December 2006 he was the victim of a racist assault by a Padania “vigilantes patrol” in Opera (Milan).

They have only got more powerful. They have reached positions from which they can draft up and pass terrible laws against the Roma ethnic group and immigrants. Policies with which they can organize – protected by their laws – the most ruthless and inhuman manhunt ever seen in Italy. Yes, because not even Mussolini’s fascists had the heart to throw onto the street and kick out of towns, cities and regions innocent and vulnerable families; families with children, pregnant women, the elderly and sick.
In Hungary, too, there is a movement spreading racial hatred against Roma citizens and immigrants – just like the Northern League. It is called Magyar Gárda and the party obtained important results in the last European elections. The Court of Appeal in Budapest, however, after examining the ideologies of the Hungarian Guard which were set out in the press and during rallies, declared the party illegal. Over the last few days, while dozens of Eritrean refugees were drowning in the stretch of sea between Libya and Italy - and the authorities were trying to cover up the tragedy - over the Internet racist Italians were amusing themselves with a game: “Bounce the Illegal Immigrant Back”.
The game was ideated by Renzo Bossi, the son of the leader of the Northern League. The game is reserved for users of Facebook and is also present on the Northern League website. The horrifying game foresees players pushing back (at the click of a mouse) the “boats of hope” - kicking the “illegal” immigrants back into the sea. While little Mirko runs around barefoot, lifting sticks and training in order to be prepared to face Padane patrols in the future, the Italian under 15s cricket team won the European title.
The cricket team is made up of young boys with Italian citizenship, sons of immigrants from Sri Lanka and Asia. “It is the first European title in the history of Italian cricket”, says the coach, Simone Gambino, after beating the Isle of Man in the final 163 to 59. “The boys and I decided to dedicate the victory to Umberto Bossi, because this result is proof that immigrants can also bring prestige to Italy. And these boys also know the words of the Italian anthem. The best player in the Italian team and in the tournament is an Indian Sikh from Moldovì (Cn) who plays for Varese. “These boys have fought hard for Italy,” says a cricket fan, “and many of them live in this ‘non-existent land” which the supporters of the Northern League call Padania.
They go to school and train in Milan, Bologna, Venice, and Trento. They are often subjected to insults, because racist ideologies are always much stronger in the north. But I believe these boys are the future of our country, and not people like Maroni, Calderoli, Tosi, Bossi, and their descendants”,
